Arion Bank and Vörður open a branch in Reykjanesbær

Arion Bank and Vörður have today, 5 May 2026, opened a new branch in Reykjanesbær. Vörður’s current offices at Krossmói are being relocated to shared premises with Arion Bank at Aðalgata 64. The new location offers excellent access from the main road Reykjanesbraut via Aðaltorg, and ample parking will be available outside the branch.

The branch is a so‑called core branch, offering a wide range of banking and insurance services to individuals and businesses. It is located in the service centre on the ground floor and will initially have eleven employees. Opening hours are from 09:00 to 16:00. Customers travelling abroad can purchase foreign currency from a teller during opening hours, and a foreign exchange ATM will also be available on site, operating 24 hours a day. The regional manager is Einar Hannesson. All branch employees are based in the area and therefore have strong knowledge of the local community.

Einar Hannesson, Regional Manager for Personal Banking in Reykjanesbær, said:

“The opening of these new premises marks an important milestone for Arion Bank, as it has been a long time since we last opened a new branch, making this a truly exciting project. Vörður also has a long history in Reykjanesbær, having operated a branch in this vibrant town since 1999. Our aim is to bring banking and insurance together and support local development and a strong business environment. Business activity is thriving in the area, and with Arion’s increased presence, even more opportunities will emerge.

We look forward to welcoming people in the area and having meaningful conversations about banking and insurance. See you at Aðaltorg.”
