Vördur and GSI introduce a new version of Regluvörður

Regluvörður 2026, the new and improved edition of the golf game created by Vörður and the Golf Union of Iceland (GSÍ), has officially launched. The game offers golfers a fun and engaging way to improve their knowledge of the Rules of Golf, and previous editions have been played by thousands of participants.

The new version of the game delivers an enhanced playing experience and even more challenges. Players can test themselves with hundreds of questions and collect points that count both towards their individual score and that of their golf club. To earn the title of "Regluvörður 2026", players must score more than 6,000 points in a single game.

The golf club with the highest score will be crowned the winner when the competition concludes on 20 August. In addition, a prize draw will be held among those golfers who have earned the title of "Regluvörður 2026." The winner will receive a one-week trip for four to Villaitana, Spain, in partnership with Golfskálinn, as well as one year's Golfvernd insurance coverage from Vörður.

Recently, Vörður and the Golf Union of Iceland also renewed their partnership for the fourteenth time. The collaboration began with Vörður supporting the printed edition of the GSÍ Rules of Golf book, before evolving into the creation of Regluvörður, which was first launched in 2013 and has enjoyed widespread popularity ever since. Vörður is also one of the principal supporters of Forskot, the elite development fund that aims to make it easier for elite golfers to train and compete under the best possible conditions, in line with international standards.

"We are delighted to continue this enjoyable partnership with the Golf Union of Iceland. By turning the GSÍ Rules of Golf into a game, we have succeeded in increasing thousands of golfers' knowledge of the rules, and the game has been extremely popular over the years. It is exciting to be able to take it a step further with this new and updated version. As in all aspects of life, it is important to know the rules of the game, approach everything with care and, of course, make sure you are properly insured – including on the golf course."

said Guðbjörg Heiða Guðmundsdóttir, CEO of Vörður.

"Knowledge of the Rules of Golf and good etiquette on the course are values we always strive to promote within the sport. Golfers' experiences become both better and more enjoyable when these principles are upheld. Regluvörður is an excellent way to strengthen that knowledge in a fun and engaging manner, and we are very pleased with our collaboration with Vörður on a project like this. The strong support of partners such as Vörður is a major factor in ensuring that the Icelandic golf community continues to perform at a high international level."

said Hulda Bjarnadóttir, President of the Golf Union of Iceland.
