Vörður and Arion strengthen Reykjalundur by three million
For 17 years, Creditinfo has been analysing the operations of Icelandic companies and recognising outstanding businesses for their achievements. Behind that success lies a great deal of hard work, as strict criteria must be met to make the list.
We at Vörður and Arion Bank are proud to work with many outstanding companies across the country. In recognition of their achievements, we have in recent years supported important community projects in their name.
This year, we have decided to contribute three million króna towards the further development of Reykjalundur on behalf of these outstanding companies.
Reykjalundur is the largest rehabilitation centre in the country and plays a key role in the Icelandic healthcare system. Each year, close to a thousand individuals receive rehabilitation there, with the goal of restoring their health, capabilities, and ability to work following illness or hardship. However, much of the facility has aged considerably, and there is a great need for development and improvements to ensure that it can continue to fulfil its important role.
The contribution will be used for development projects at Reykjalundur. The Friends of Reykjalundur recently organised a national fundraising campaign, together with RÚV, in support of the project. Among other things, funds are being raised for improvements and reconstruction of facilities used daily by patients and staff.
"We at Vörður want to have a real and positive impact on our community. At Reykjalundur, important work is being done to help people regain their health and capabilities following illness and hardship. It is therefore particularly fitting to celebrate the achievements of outstanding companies by supporting this vital work, and we are proud to do our part," says Guðbjörg Heiða Guðmundsdóttir, CEO of Vörður.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all the companies receiving Creditinfo recognition this year. At the same time, we thank the staff of Reykjalundur for their contribution over the years.
